FH is getting his own apartment in another month. I'm not officially moving in with him until we're married. Should we put the cable bill or phone bill or something in both of our names in case down the line we want or need to establish domestic partnership for something? I don't know why we would need to, but still..what do you think>?

Re: Spinoff to bills and joint accounts - question
i don't think it is necessary. i can make changes to all accts, by saying i am authorized to make changes...i don't know if this if what you were looking for, but maybe FH would consider putting a few utilities in your name...does this help?

I would do one utility bill in both names. For us its our electric bill.
I needed this cause my co-op wouldn't believe me when I told them my FW is living with me. I tried to get her signed up to the pool which is for 'residents only' and they gave me a very hard time with this. Once I showed them a bill with both our names... problem solved.

Yeah, for exactly that kind of thing..that's good idea, we've heard there's a good community pool for residents in franklin square/ garden city park where FH is moving
