spinoff to breaks during planning...

i'm just wondering, when you say i'm taking a break from planning, what does that mean? i have not been planning 24/7, now that my wedding is getting closer i'm doing more, like yesterday we ordered the bm dresses and next week we are doing invites.

i'm really just planning as stuff comes up. and i don't really consider that taking a break.

that's pretty much where i am too.. all the big stuff is done and now i'm just doing things as they come up/need to be done...

I know people have said ok...I am not going to think about the wedding for a while and just stop researching etc.....

I never really did that...it was always full steam ahead for me

My point was just to ask if anyone had ever taken like a month or so off from planning their wedding ...I feel like I have never stopped...because I didn't want to stop...I felt like there was always something that needed to be done...but that is me

i wouldnt consider it taking a break. i dont do wedding stuff everyday (although i think about my wedding 24/7! ).

no need to explain, everyone is different. i just never had something to do every month. all my major vendors were booked in 2004...so once that was done, i didn't have to do anything.

Ok

For me it's more of a mental break, as in not thinking about the wedding at all! I did that this past weekend. Well, maybe I thought about it a little bit
I did this in December, too. it seems to happen when I'm feeling stressed and just need to relax. I have anxiety problems as it is so I think sometimes I need to force myself to take a break so I feel ready to go again
I don't always do something wedding related every day, but I'm always thinking of this or worrying about that...but like I said that is my little quirk so I just know how to deal with myself

When I said I took a break, I meant that I didn't schedule vendor appointments for initial meetings, and I certainly didn't meet with any, or book any. I didn't do online searches for BM dresses, or go shopping with any of my girls. I didn't look at favors, or invites. The only thing I did was check in on these boards. I added stuff to my notebook to come back to later, or printed out posts.

I did that because I was at a point where I felt like the wedding was consuming my entire life and there was no room for anything else. The time off allowed me to focus on work, FH, and family.
