Spinoff to e-ring question... does your wedding band easily 'slip on'...

What do you do if your wedding band takes a little 'umph' to get on? I purposely fitted mine a little tight so it wouldn't be loose, but now I'm afraid it won't be such a 'graceful' moment when he goes to put the ring on my finger!

What happens?!?!?! Do I help him push it on all the way? Does he only put it on half way? What do we do?

(this is the crap that makes me nervous!)

you are so funny!!!

umm... it might take a little extra effort either way b/c you'll probably be nervous and hot so your hands will be swollen anyway-- he'll probably do the best he can with it-- maybe you'll have to help him slip it on but that makes for cute ceremony moments when people chuckle! i love those

The priest told my sister that her hands were going to be swollen on the day of so not to to worry if the wedding band doesn't easily go on. He told the groom to put it on as far as he could and then told my sister to help it along. No worries!

exactly... and my e-ring has made an indentation in my finger. Maybe I'll take my e-ring off for a couple of days and wear it on my right hand so that that darn indentation (aka the li'l mountain) goes away. lol

Try remembering to put hand lotion on the day of. It may help the ring situation.

You should never buy a ring that is too tight., even a little bit. You should always buy a ring that has a little room to give. Not visa versa. But to each his own.

Try some lotion that may help, but I would let him know ahead of time only to put it on until your knuckle and you will push it back the rest of the way so he doesn't hurt you trying to get it on.

My ring slid on perfectly. I lost about 2 pounds right before the wedding and it just slid right on. It probably wasn't wise to buy it tight...my rings fit perfectly when I'm warmer...but in a cool setting, they get a tad looser [they turn on my finger but don't slide off]. I had gained some weight right after the engagement and then went to the zoo in the middle of the summer, big mistake....my finger ended up swollen and I had to walk around a zoo with my hand in the air to help with the swelling. If it's tight normally, anytime you are hot, it will pinch your finger.

I just thought of something - can you get it on NOW without struggling? because if its hard to get on now, when it is summer and hot and your fingers, well, expand, you will never be able to get it on!!
