spinoff to FutureMrsK2012's check..

FH and I had certain $$ amounts in our heads when we started wedding planning. some have held pretty close and we were WAY off on others..

which vendors/services etc gave you the biggest sticker shock?

for us it was RH and florists.. when we got our first pp price we were just like haha

hmmm, nothing was terribly shocking bc I have friends that recently married, or are planning a wedding. We always knew an LI wedding would cost us $$$$.

If I had to answer, I would say invitations/paper goods. I know there are inexpensive vendors out there, but if you are just browsing standard websites and catalogues, everything is priced a la carte and it ADDS UP so fast!

We were way under budget for flowers and we didn't add in our hotel room and all my pampering before the wedding which is adding up quick. However we did come out under budget on a lot of things so it might wind up evening out if I could stop think of new things I want! I'm driving FH crazy. lol

honeymoon for me but i think also because I've never planned a trip like this and i typically do everything online.

I used the knot budgeter tool before I did anything, because we set a strict budget and have a ton of guests, so I wanted to know exactly what I could afford to spend pp before doing any RH hunting. Then, I sought out RH's (and dates) that would be around the price pp.

I guess I am a bit surprised though at how much photography is, in general. 1k for an album/?!??!?! I am in the wrong field of business. lol

I haven't booked either yet but I definitely under budgeted for hair and makeup!

I think our parents would have a heart attack if they knew how much we were paying for these things!
(they think we shouldn't pay more than 1k-2k each!)
