Spinoff to 'FYI - not to scare anyone....but...'

Did anyone see on the news the other night that an unidentified airplane flew into NY's airspace, circled the Statue of Liberty a couple of times, and then was forced to land somewhere, I think by other planes?

I don't know why it didnt make headlines, and I never heard who it was. Does anyone have any more info?

i read about this somewhere, i think the guy was american, said he got confused where he was and flew into the wrong airspace. sounded like an innocent mistake to me, but i guess you never know....

Yes, it was a mistake, it was nothing to worry, it was one of those litte planes.

Last year a couple of planes had been hijacked... basically the planes were stolen by al quada and the like, so if the terrorists want to strike, they do not need to hijack our planes. Unfortunately, they have their own.

Exactly. There was a mistake in the flight plan and the air traffic controllers immediately picked up on it and had it resolved. : ).

air traffic control, homeland security and our FBI are great. They are always on top of things. They try to be one step ahead of everything.

The technology they have is amazing. It's so much better then the technology we had 5 years, 10 years ago.
