I am going to really start to get homesick for my cats if we are gone too long. They will still be living at my parents house when we leave, and my mom will feed them and change their litter box and talk to them (she'll just say 'hi girls') about once or twice a day). I am still going to miss them alot....I wish they could come. How long is too long?

Re: Spinoff to Honeymoon-How long is too long
Honestly, if I could I would go on Honeymoon FOREVER - ok not forever but a month would be awesome!
I think it depends on your personal preferences. If you are really gonna miss your kitties (I talk to mine too - cuties!) then I would say a week or 10 days.
If you're going to someplace with a long flight (Fiji, Hawaii, Europe) and a time difference, don't cut it back too much (cause you'll be flying for most of your trip - and by the time you get accustomed to the time difference you'll have to come home!)

We did two full weeks, and even though we missed our dog, I think I could have gone another week.

We took 4 weeks, and it was nowhere near too long. It all depends on your personal preferences, lifestyle, and schedule. We were both burnt out from many years of working long hours without more than 3-5 days off here or there, and sorely in need of a real break. For us, 4 weeks was just barely long enough - it takes a week for me to even get work off my mind and fully relax into the vacation.
