Spinoff to How Long Were You Trying post

It seems as if a lot of girls got PG after only a month or two of trying - lucky!!

Since it is taking me a while it seems I was wondering - those of you that it happened quickly - were you on the pill prior to that? How long were you off when you got pg? I went off the pill in August.

I didn't answer the other post but I can tell you that I technically was ON the pill when I got PG. So obviously, we weren't TTC but it happened anyway.

I've heard alot of people say they got PG immediately after going off the pill and some say that it took 3 or more months. Some people still wait about 3 cycles to 'get regular' and then conceive very soon thereafter.

I went off the pill in September 2002 and didn't get pregnant until August 2003. Almost 1 year, although at first we weren't 'really' trying. I did not get AF that entire time we were trying and the doc was monitoring me when I got pregnant. I was on the pill for 8 years prior to that. I am happy to report that I am 100% back on schedule!

I had not been on the pill for literally years. I stopped taking the pill about 3 years prior to getting PG.

I have been off the pill for 7 years or more. I am 29 now and I don't think I have been on it since college.

I went off the pill (which I had been on for years) in October '03 but didn't start trying until April '04. I got pregnant the first month we tried. My doctor had told me that we could start trying right after I stopped taking the pill. There was no need to wait.

I was on the pill 10 years when I went off back in April, and then we were using condoms until October when we got it on the first try

We lost ours very early on, about 3 weeks ago, but, we got pregnant in our 2nd month of trying. That was also 3 months after I stopped taking the pill, and I had been on it for about 5 years.

We weren't trying at all. I was off the pill for a week bc I didn't have time to fill my prescription. I got PG the next week when I started taking them again.

I have been on the pill for 5 1/2 yrs.

I actually was never on the pill. My body just could not handle it, so I never got past a week on it. I did get preggo first time, but my family has a history of getting preggo at first try. Was it tough for your mother to get pregnant at first? They say within 6 months, 50% of couples in their twenties get preggo, so your odds are still very much with you.

i was never on the pill, it was our literally our first time w/o any other form of protection...so I suppose we just got lucky. we were not trying more just on when it happens it happens and it did

My mom had 1 mc before she had me but i don't know how long she was trying to get pg with that baby and with me - i want to ask but if i ask she will know i am ttc and i dont want her to know LOL!

Then she tried for 8 years to get PG with my sister. So she has had trouble. But she also has cysts on her ovaries and irregular periods. My periods are like clockwork and I have never had any problems. I just feel like it should have happened already and I am getting worried.

My mom tried for 5 years before getting pg with my older sister.....Both my sister and I got pregnant with our babies on the first try (my sister is pg with her second - both on the first try and me with my first).....So don't worry about your mom's timing - back then your mom could have been having minor, simple problems that could have been fixed easily but they wouldn't have been able to detect it back then...best of luck to you....

I was on the pill for 9 year and then the BC patch for the last year. I went off the patch in sept. and i am now 6 weeks prego. It took us 2 months of really TTC.

I was not on the pill. I don't think that causes you to have difficulity. You may want to read Taking Control of Your Fertility and charting. It is amazing what we never learn about our bodies.With charting I got pregnant within 3 months.
