Spinoff to how long will you wait

I always loved the names Kristian (polish spelling), Sebastian and Isabella.

When my husband and I went to Poland to visit his grandmother I met his cousin who has two sons and they were both named Kristian and Sebastian. I was a little upset. They have our last name also.

So now I am not sure. I always wanted a name that was both in english and in polish but now I am not sure.

I want a name that is unique and not popular. I need to do a lot of research once my time comes.

Girl: Madeline Rose (to be called Maddie)

Boy: Andrew George (to be called Andy)

We can hear it now:

'Maddie and Andy! Time for Dinner!'

All I can think of is a girls name :

Lorelai Carolyn - both modified versions of our mother's names - my way of giving them their own identity but honoring our mom's

HOWEVER- he doesnt want any girls and swears we wont butu I'm dying for one....my mom an di had a rocky relationship (still do kinda) and I want the chance to have mother/ daughter things

Tradition in his family is to name the boys after the man father but there are already so many uncles and cousins with all the same name and it drives me crazy- i'll have to put my foot down

I also LOVE the name Kaylee...BUT my cousin got a dog a few years ago and named her Kaylee...so that idea went out the window since I don't want my child forever associated with that dog by my family!


For a girl I really like the name Kylie also, but FI doesn't particulary care for it...I also like Madison and Haley...and I have always liked the name Ashleigh

For a boy I like the name Ryan Christopher...FI's name is Christopher, which I love, but we don't really want a jr., so we'll probably just make it our son's middle name

For a boy we had decided on Jeremy David... but I'm not so sure any more. I love the name Ethan but FH hates it... we'll see :)

Our boy will be George after DH's father (none of his sibilings stepped up to the plate!!) and girl may be Mary Kathryn after his sister who passed shortly before the wedding (but I'm not crazy about the name but would def use as a tribute) or Jane Elizabeth (sorta after his mom).
