Spinoff to 'I need your help' - vendor cancellation

I went for my first hair trial and booked the person on the spot. After reading some less than favorable reviews regarding lateness issues, I decided that I did not want to take the risk, and went for a trial with someone else (highly recommended by LIW). I was very happy and booked her as well.

Now I need to cancel the first hair person, and I don't know how to go about it... Can I use similar wording and send a letter instead of calling? (i'm not good in these kinds of situations!!!)

i wouldn't tell her WHY you decided not to user her .... i'd actually lie and say your cousin offered to do your hair for free so you want to save the money.

i think email is ok, but calling is definitely better

thanks ladies! yeah, i was going to use the 'family friend offered to do it for free' excuse but i just feel awkward about the whole thing... i'll probably go with email.
