i find it hilarious when i read threads like todays drama. every bride to be wants up to agree with her, no matter what our own opinion is. i think the point is that not all of us are going to agree, and once we realize that, the easier it is to post on threads like the one started today.

Not everyone will agree, but when it's one person after another bad mouthing that person, it starts to get unessessary. If I see that the same opinion has been given a number of times, I think the point is made. I don't feel the need to contibute to any negative energy.
That's why it gets nasty, because people keep going on and on about it, to the point where you're like 'alright I get the point'.

I find it amusing and scary at the same time...I can't tell if it's stress or just a bunch of women w/ clashing opinions, but we're all adults here, and planning the most exciting day of our life! Why can't we all just get along?!

There's a difference between differing opinions and name calling. The problems arise when the attacks get personal. I think some of the tone and words used by a few of the posters was uncalled for.

i read the post and what certain people said.
IMHO... the original post was just venting and yes people gave their opinions, as they should be able to. However, some are better at sugar coating their opinions than others. Girls on LIW are always asking for a little support and this girl was asking just that. I don't think it's hard to give her a little support. Offering advice is good, but sometimes you have to realize that how you word things or that flat out calling someone names... is hurtful and SHOULD NOT be done!! There's no need for that.
The point is... this girl was upset and turned to the one place that she thought she could get some sympathy... LIW. Instead she was attacked and beaten over the head. There's no need for that either! You can express your opinion and give advice without being just plain mean. Sorry girls... there's no excuse for that!

I think the point of the original post got lost. I read the entire thread, and it seemed to me the original poster was upset with FH for not wanting to talk to his mom, not at FMIL per se. However, when everyone latched onto that part of her vent everything else got lost, and she felt compelled to respond to the very pointed personal attacks.
I try very hard to NOT read the entire thread before I respond because these threads are like a game of telephone, and occasionally end in drama.
