spinoff to MikesBride2B post: i actually did vomit.

sorry if its too much info but i am having my wisdom tooth pulled today & i have been super nervous. i had a nervous breakdown on Sunday about it. my nerves have been getting the best of me & i just couldn't take it anymore. i came to work this morning to keep my mind off of it (appointment at 2) & my boss neglected to leave me work to do.

FH has been telling me that it will be fine & you wont feel anything (he had all 4 pulled out 2 years ago) but i am just so petrified. i have NO tolerance for pain. i cry like a baby when i have to go for a blood test.

I had all 4 out at once too... TRUST your FH... you will not feel it!!! If you feel anything tell the Dr. and they will give you more meds. I was actually knocked out for mine.

try and relax it will be over before you know it. Then you can go home and eat Jello and watch the wedding channel all day and weekend!

honestly i HATE the dentist, and i can honestly say that other than the needle with novocaine i didnt feel crap, no pressure NOTHING

Christine - You will be fine! I've had a few of my wisdom teeth removed and to be quite honest, the longest part of the whole procedure was waiting for the novocaine to kick in fully, which was like 15 minutes. Once it kicked in, they removed it easily and then I just sat there for awhile with gauze stuffed in my face. Seriously though, the procedure is quick and you'll be okay!

I agree I had all four pulled at once and two were impacted. I felt well enough after that 5 hours after my surgery I was coaching at a cheerleading competition. You should def trust FH.

Same here. Will you be knocked out? If not request to be knocked out or at least get the nitrus oxide. The procedure is so fast you won't be there very long. Prepare to sleep the rest of the day and relax tomorrow. The meds help so much! It will be fine. Good Luck today!

awwww wisdom teeth ****!

I only had 3 but I had them do one side at a time and both times I had them knock me out... no way in hell was a staying up for that! Grrr I can't stand the dentist... though the Vicodin they gave me for the 2 weeks after was pretty sweet

The worst part for me was them giving me the needle for the anesthesia. Everything else I was out cold for.

Oh and the drugs they give you after are wonderful

im horrible with pain
take anxiety meds..xanex is wonderful..you wont feel a thing

Then you are good! Relax you have nothing to worry about, just have your meds ready to go and you are golden.

youre going to think im reallly weird or a liar.. but i had FUN getting mine out. partially because i know the dentist and the surgeon was cool as hell. both young guys in their early 30's. i was laughing the entire time (nitrous oxide) but i walked out smiling, drove home and called fh ont he way 'babe, im gassed up.. im in anamazzing mood.. enjoy this while it lasts'

i didnt even take TYLENOL!! i had 2 impacted wisdom teeth extracted with ZERO pain.

If you are being knocked out, NO PROBLEM.

I was 14 when they had to do mine. They did one side at a time, so I had to go twice and going int he second time I wasn't worried at all because the first time went so smoothly. I hated the dentist, and STILL do, but they put me out and when I woke up there was no pain and when everything wore off it was barely a dull ache.

Don't worry. IT sounds so much worse than it is, don't think about it too much. Good luck!

Is it already grown in? If so just getting a tooth pulled is reaaaaally not a big deal at all (and I am a TERRIBLE patient as you may have guessed).

You will be okay, especially if they are putting you out.

Don't worry, it will be fine. I had 2 removed last month and I was freaking out but I didn't feel a thing and no pain afterward; I didn't have to use the pain killers at all.
