SPINOFF to Mother/son dance....lyrics question

Okay, so I noticed a lot of the songs that people chose for the mother/son dance are songs where the words seem to pertain to the mother singing it to the son (i.e.- beautiful boy, etc.)

I always thought the song was suppose to be from the son to the mother?? ya, know...like a song that basically shows the sons point of view i guess.... am I wrong?

i'm the one who danced to beautiful boy... my case is that I WAS DANCING WITH MY SON.... we wanted to make sure he was part of almost every aspect of the wedding. so it was a song that 'i sang to him'.

Ahhhh that makes much more sense

FH is being such a pain in the @ss....I cant get him to pick any songs and he doesnt like any that his mom mentionned. Guys are so rediculous sometimes....

i think it's pretty child/parent related. although, she's not my favorite, but the lyrics hit the spot for a wedding

Personally I dont think it matters either way...because the dance in essence to me is honoring the relationship to the two...the son is doing the dance to honor his mother and say thank you, while the mother is acknowledging that her son is grown and it's kinda her first dance with her man, last dance with her lil boy

I know for the my father/daughter dance, its going to be butterfly kisses and that is a song from the father to the daughter...which i love...so IMHO it can go either way
