Well, black or white both go with the outfit, so the color choice is more of a personal preference.

I personally prefer the black as I like the pop you get from the shirt and tie. To that end, I'd have the vest be a lower cut vest to show a bit more shirt and tie.

How many buttons are on his jacket?

Im pretty sure its the 2 button jacket :)

then i would do either a black vest or no vest.

when i think about the outfit with a white vest, i don't like the white vest breaking up the line from the tie to the jacket, and i feel like it would look odd to see white collar, tie, white vest, and then black.

the vest on a three-piece suit usually matches the jacket anyway, so that's another check in favor of black.

Does he have his shirt already? Do you know what type of collar it is (e. g., point, spread, semi-spread)?

oh boy good question have to find out. I know its a basic white shirt no pleats in it.. classic white regular sharp collar I would say i think the one in the picture

Ok, good call on the no pleats with a long tie.

That collar looks like a point, or at most a semi-spread, which will work well based on pictures of your FH (he is a thicker guy, so a point collar will elongate his face a bit).

I'd recommend when he ties his tie to go with a four-in-hand, prince albert or half-windsor knot.

Haha, have we covered everything? Cufflinks? Shoes?

Well is it ok if the ties are skinny and not regular thicker ties???? My FH and I worry about that cause we have 2 guys in the bridal party that are a little bigger.. and I know some guys dont like skinny ties.. but I looved the way it looks and with the vest on it should be fine right?

It's ok for purposes of the tie knot.

My only issue with skinny ties is that they are a bit trendy now and might date your pictures a bit. Otherwise, I don't think it will matter.
