Spinoff to Out of Curiousity Post...

I just read this post and it made me realize that I havbe not yet bought the DJ give aways (they are not included in my package) Would this be a noticeable thing missing from the wedding? I am talking about the leis and the sunglasses and all that junk...

i'm not having the give-aways - i personally don't like them at weddngs...

I think if you don't want to do them, then that's fine. A lot of people that go to Sweet 16's think they're not appropriate for weddings or just don't like them...

Coming from Latin families, we just think of that as extra FUN stuff, lol! Also, no ONE in our families have ever had a sweet 16 and we're the first to have a big wedding, so I think it will be a 'fun' thing at our wedding.

We're going to try to do 'classier' (lol) giveaways that don't look too cheapy.

We're doing them. There included in our package, and since we have a bunch of really fun people attending, it's a great opportunity for some real fun pictures. Besides that..we have children attending our wedding as well.

I think some are fun..like the glow-stuff that for some reasons gets people up and dancing or shakin..

for my e-part my FH's grandma actually put one on her head like a headband and was shimmying away..we were shocked..that a glow stick can cause such excitement..

Some are cheesy some I think are fun..

We're having them....Alot of our friends and family are cooky so they will like that stuff...especially with a few drinks in them.
We're just having ummmmm, white hats with black around it, champagne flute shape shaker things and ummmmm I think sunglasses but Im not sure?

It is not necessary.

I personally don't like them much, but I gave in to the FH when he wanted to add these lighted roses that will be given away during the slow song.

I caught some flack for not having the giveaways at the wedding. But I cut it all out along with any line dancing except for the Cotton Eyed Joe (sentimental reasons with my friends) and the Electric Slide b/c my mom BEGGED me to have it (my mom has MS and it'll probably be the only song other than a mother/daughter dance with me that she will actually dance to and she's been practicing...LOL). Am I wrong for not having these things? I had a sweet 16 and I'm just soooo tired of all the line dancing and give aways and they are such a waste IMO.

I think it all depends on your personalitys IMO.
Me and FH and our friends are all crazy....Our familys are a little on the crazy side too so I know they would like them.....

Yea, I hear ya which is kind of like my own family so thats why they were all bummed when I said that I wasn't gonna have them. But I feel like its FH and my wedding and if we don't want it (FH could really care less I think), we shouldn't feel pressure to have it. Especially since it costs extra for the giveaways and we are paying for the DJ...and as for the songs, well they are just out of luck because I ain't budging on that one. I think if I hear the Conga song or the Macarena one more time I may just LOL (but seriously I just might)
