spinoff to pre-nup question...if you have a pet

So, if God Forbid you split, what would happen with your pets?

I ask this because in the 2 major fights that FH and I have had (pre-engagement), the most heartbreaking thing for me and him I guess was when thinking that we might break up was the idea of what to do about our cats. I love them more than anything in this world and I would want them of course but I would be heartbroken for them to not have my FH around. Even though there are two, it would be even worse for their sake to split them up (they are brothers and have been together since birth). I have no idea what we would do

we just recently got a puppy together and i have wondered that myself....but knock on wood we won't have to worry about that!!

The pet we have right now is a cat that FH had before he met me so if we split (god forbid) he'd take his cat.

I have one cat, and he has a cat and a kitten.

God forbid that happened, I'd keep mine and he'd keep his.

My cat can be a real beast when he feels like it; it'd be in FH's best interest NOT to have that cat around! LOL!

We have a dog and I got him a few months before FH moved in. I would definitely take him and I dont think FH would protest too much

we have two pets together, one dog, one cat....i have no idea what we would do and knock wood i hope to never have to think about that.

We had a terrible fight once and I thought I was going to move back home...even though my mom is not an animal lover...she would have taken both me and my dogs...and tehy're big..
I think the dogs would def stay with me..even though FH loves them, i don't know if he would even be willing to take care of tehm like i do...they;re my babies

We actually have talked about this...we love our cat way too much!!

However is the one who decides to leave is the one who gives up Lily. We got her as a kitten so she belongs to both of us...

I swear this has kept us together at times

We just bought a puppy about a mth ago and even though i love him, i think i would let FH take him, it was more his idea and i'm not an animal lover, even though I love my puppy!...not sure if that makes sense! LOL

when we adopted our dog years ago, we were asked that question - hands down i said she'd stay with me.

I dont have any animals right now, but this brought up a sad memory. My ex-husband and I had 2 cats, actually both were very attached to me. The hardest thing was when I left my ex I couldnt take them with me. Wasnt allowed any pets. So I had to leave them with him. I had no choice and it was the hardest thing.

I still call each of the cats on their birthdays and talk into the ans machine and say Happy Birthday. I know its strange.
7 years later, I still miss them both

We got our dog last year. It was his idea to get a dog and as much as he would want to have her-there's no way. I take her to work with me everyday-otherwise she would be stuck in a crate all day. She's my sidekick!
He can get her on weekends.

but its not going to happen
