In honor of Friday the 13th...Do you believe in ghosts and/or spirits?
I don't believe in ghosts like the oogedy boogedy type, nor do I believe that once we die, our spirits become dismemberd forms with rotting teeth and empty eye sockets. So I don't believe in the 'horror' type of ghosts.
But I do believe in spirits, and that the afterlife can have contact with this life. And I believe that spirits probably look just like humans. I'm Christian, so I tend to imagine that all spirits look around 33 years old- the age that Christ died at. But that's just my imagination, I don't think that's a real theory of Christianity lol.
I think that the spirit world exists all around us.

Absolutely. I've been visited in dreams by my grandmother at times, and the apartment I lived in with my parents years back had a spirit in it. A friendly one, though. I spotted it a few times, and I had not mentioned it to anyone aside from my parents and sister, and then one day my mom saw it. And another time, I had my then-boyfriend and best friend at the house and they saw it - I had not told them ANYTHING about it.
It was actually kind of comforting.

That's pretty cool. I actually kinda want to see a spirit...afterlife assurance, IMO.

Ghosts, no. Spirits, yes. Like I do believe that my grandparents are still up there watching over me and will absolutely be at my wedding even if I can't see them.

Completely, when I was 2 my grandfather who I was incredibly close to passed away and the next day my mom walked into my room to find me holding a picture of him that has been previously nailed to the wall and telling her that grandpa wanted me to hold the pic so I wouldnt miss him and she took the pic away from me put it away and the next day the same thing happened. I again was babbling to my grandfather and the pic was right back in my hands.

It always happened at the weirdest times. I don't really think that you can scope them out, like booking at a haunted bed & breakfast or something. It also helps to have a completely open mind to it. I've done the Ouija board thing before too...had to actually burn mine in a bonfire because my friend and I were getting some creepy responses. Only way to get rid of one is to pass it on or burn it to ashes; I didn't want to pass it on to anyone. It was vile stuff we were getting on there.

That's really scary! I used a Ouji board after one of my dogs died, and it immediately spelt out his name. It freaked me out like whoaaa.
My mom went to a psychic once who told her some VERY accurate things about my family members who were deceased. It's a lot to type, but one of the things was this:
My Gramps passed away of complications due to brain cancer when I was 8. For some reason (I can't remember, I was little), he wasn't able to read correctly anymore. So he had a therapist, but I also took it upon myself to help him read when she wasn't there.
The psychic said to my mom (amongst many other accurate pieces of information) 'Your father is showing me a little girl teaching him how to read again. He loves that little girl very much.'

Nope. I don't believe in ghosts at all. Morbidly, I don't believe in an afterlife. I just feel that there was nothing before you were born and there will be nothing after so how can there be ghosts?
I sure hope I get proved wrong! (About the afterlife, not the ghosts thing! LOL!)

Wow. That's so comforting - and such a completely random bit of information that it makes you know that it's the truth.

Re: Spinoff to QOTD
I do w/out a doubt believe that there is an afterlife. I have had a few 'weird' experiences myself but I just have that faith that our loved ones are still here and always w/us. I have also had a number of dreams that my brother shows up in....it amazes me how real it can feel.
