Spinoff to reading each other's email: If your friend confides in you, do you tell your FH/FW/DW/DH

Let's say one of your best friend confides in you with stuff, do you tell your 'other'

There's an old folklore that 'spouses/others' are absolved from the confidentiality thing

pretty much. There are occassions that I won't share things with him but for the most part he is absolved from the 'don't tell anyone rule'

Totally depends on whether or not he would have ANY INTEREST WHATSOEVER.

sometimes, but for some things I leave some of the story out because I get nervous that DH will gossip.

It really depends. If my best friend tells me something personal and asks me to keep it in confidence, I would not tell him. I think it would be wrong to betray her trust.

It depends on the friend really, but for the most part I do tell FH.

it depends. If it is something that he really does not need to know, then I won't & he respects the fact that I am remaining trustworthy to a friend & vice versa.

If it is silly gossipy stuff, then I usually tell him. He is so quiet anyway, I never have to worry about him blabbing

most of the time, i share, unless i feel the person who told me would be really upset if i did. but i really think everyone knows spouses are exempt from the category of 'anyone'

we tell each other EVERYTHING....especially the friends stuff....and that's as far as it goes.

I sure do!!! My friends and I have a agreement, when you say not to tell ANYONE your DH does not count all husbands and wives are an exception So this way you still feel like you told someone even though it is ok

He's exempt from the rule! How could I keep anything from him? Also, then you'll have told someone, so it's easier to keep the secret.

But, also, as someone else said, if he'd have no interest whatsoever, I don't tell him

Definitely> I can't keep secrets from him. I also sometimes tell my friends embarrassing stories about DH and then tell DH that I told. He thinks I'm ridiculous.

Agreed!!!! Some things I tell him and some things he could care less about.

but he knows he's sworn to secrecy..He's my best friend...ya have to tell your best friend!!!!
