Spinoff to 'RK Bridal' ( a mini review)

Spinoff to 'RK Bridal' ( a mini review)

I'm having mixed feelings about RK bridal. I'm currently VERY unsatisfied with their service right now.

I believe that their prices are very very reasonble and the sales staff is AMAZING. So patient and so kind, especially Emily and Sharon. Anyone interested in RK bridal, ask to work with Emily especially!

Now-
I have 2 weeks left for my wedding, and am on my 4th trial!
Typically they give you three, however, I just feel the alterations department has the muggiest, most morose persona. They give you such a negative vibe as if they're doing you a favor by altering your dress for you. Everytime I go there, I always feel rushed, and that they're quickly taking your measurements and kicking you out without fully 'listening' to what you want!

My first fitting went great but the seamstress wasn't so friendly. I didn't take it on because I figured that's just how she is. When i went for my second fitting, I tried the dress on, and they altered my strapless top way TOO tight. It looked like I had back fat (and I'm a size 2)!! My skin was just hanging out of the dress and my cleavage looked like it was gasping for air b/c they did it too tight. I meantioned this to the seamstress who she'll fix it. On my Third fitting, she did NOT fix the top, my skin was still hanging out of the dress! When we brought it to her attention, she said that she can't make it loose b/c my dress is heavy and that it will fall off of me. I told her to loose it out so thatt i can judge that for myself. She loosened it and said the only reason that it's still staying on is that she's holding the back of my dress up with her foot. I said 'then let gooo!' After she let go, i walked around the room with my dress to see if it was falling off and it wasn't! They just DONT want to help out, they dont want to make alterations b/c that would mean more work for them. I'm sooo terrified right now that she's going to alter my dress and now make it too huge. RK bridal's alterations department does not have the friendliest ppl in there.
I could be wrong and this could be an isolated incident but with just 2 weeks to go for my wedding, I'm peeved and a bit scared. The dress alterations department at rk bridal needs to alter their attitude towards clients!!

I'm soo sorry you're experiencing this!

I ordered my dress through RK bridal and now I'm scared it'll be like what you described. Hopefully they'll get your dress right!!!

I also purchased my dress at RK and while my purchasing experience (Emily) was fantastic, I also agree that their alterations department s^cks. They are incredibly overpriced and the lack of English spoken by the seamstresses is beyond frustrating.

I'm sorry you're going through this, I know how aggravating it can be.

Do you have to decide when you order the dress whether you want the alternations done at RK. Is is cheaper if you don't?

Re: Spinoff to 'RK Bridal' ( a mini review)

Sadly, the last 3 times I went for fittings, I met with a different seamstress on the 3 separate occassions. It's kinda scary that there are so many hands touching your dress and NOT just one. That pretty much gives me the impression that whatever instructions are left, someone is just picking up the slack. Doesn't necessarily mean that the seamstress who took your measurements/concerns, is the one working on your dess.
I have my 4th fitting on Saturday, I'll keep you all posted. In the mean time, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.
Thanks guys!

I'm sorry you are going through this. Demand that it is altered to your liking!! You are the one wearing it.

You can purchase it and take it elsewhere. I believe it's called 'no frills'--- not exactly sure how the no frills program at rk bridal works though.
You may want to call, but you can def. purchase the dress there and alter somewhere else.
