Spinoff to: Sometimes I wonder about FH

Sometimes I wonder about FHs friends.....

none of FH's friends are married & to be honest none of them are going to be getting married any time soon. they are already talking about their trip for next year (they all go away on a guys weekend every year) & FH keeps telling them that we are going to Hawaii & its a big expense but they just don't get it. sometimes i want to punch all of them in the face.

i have no problem with FH getting together with the guys but we are going to be spending a lot of money within the next year & we don't need the additional expense of this trip. FH & I want to start trying for a family within a couple of months after getting married. whats going to happen then???

anyone else having to deal with this???

its funny bc fh's friends from high school are all like married, engaged, or in relationships so its not an issue with them

but most of his college friends are still in party mode (even if they have gfs)...so sometimes they make comments about fh getting married and what not bc they dont understand i guess..

FH and I have some friends that are married and some that are not (and like you said, won't be getting married anytime soon).

We've now become a bit less spontaneous with the single friends because we're trying not to spend on non-necessary things. We want to put money towards the wedding and towards things we'll need when we get married, since we don't live together yet. We do get grief from our friends about it - one friend in particular of mine keeps asking me to go to concerts all summer. FH and I have a rule about concerts since we're trying not to spend: if we've seen the band already, we're not paying to see them again - not this year, anyway. Another friend keeps trying to get me to go to Mets games. Their idea of fun just is not a random night at someone's house with pizza, beer and movies.

I get a lot of free tickets to Broadway and off-Broadway shows because of my job, so that's kind of been FH and my dates lately. Not too shabby...but when I score extra freebies, you know damn well all those friends don't want to go with us!

I think we all deal with this in some way..

Most of FH's Friends have serious relationships or have kids, so I really don't have any BIG issues. All we do is g2g with the couples and hang out in someone's house or whenever we celebrate someone's b-day...which we no longer go to clubs, it has now come down to bowling, dinners or BBQ's which is fine with me!
