SPINOFF to the BCpill: when will u STOP takeing it?

I go back and forth with this MY FH wants a living Souvenir i want a least a year of marrage with him but go back and forth maybe a honeymoon baby is't such a bad thing????? so i am undecided!!

well since i have been with my FI for 7 years (in January) and we are not in our 20's anymore i think we will have a baby pretty soon after saying I DO :) i just went to the dr and she said to get off the pill 3 months before you start trying ... so i am getting married in July i think i will go off it in July so maybe by October then i can have the summer off lol

i've been off of them 2 years- I didnt like how i felt on them!

We use condoms but starting on October 1st I go back on the pill. I'll quit the month after the wedding unless they actually agree with me (I've tried every method out there and hated them all). We use condoms though so after the wedding I'm not sure what will happen. FH wants to quit using condoms after the wedding.

my sister did too- and still got her period for 3 months so didnt even know she was pregs

So did my sister. She had her first while on the Pill. But she had taken an antibiotic before the dr's realized that it would effect her likelihood of getting pregnant.

I'm definitely coming off AFTER the wedding (since I already checked my monthly friend's schedule....and my period will be done 2 days before my wedding!!) NO way am I going to stop taking it before and risk having my very irregular period on my wedding day or honeymoon!!

I'll probably come off within 6 months after the wedding, since I think we want to get pregnant after a year (ok so he wants one right away b/c he's older....but I want to wait!!).

I am waiting til I turn 30. That will give FH and I almost 5 years together to get settled and have time for ourselves.

Not until we have a house and have been to all the places we want to travel. Probably 4 years.

YUP I GOT PREGNANT WHILE TAKING THEM RELIGOIUSLY......DOC SAID ITS HIGHLY IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN SOMETHING IN MY BODY.....NOT SURE BUT BC NOT GOOD FOR ME......SO WEIRD

I think it's somewhat rare but there are some women who are very fertile so hormonal BC really doesn't work for them. There was a woman on TV who had a study done on her reproductive system since she had like 10+ kids and all were conceived on some form of hormonal BC. They said she produced a lot of eggs at one time so the pills (or depo or whatever else) couldn't prevent all of them from being fertilized. I think that's why most doctors will recommend using two forms of birth control like the pill and condoms.

even if you aren't hyper fertile or something you can get pregnant on the pill. The only 100% guarantee is abstinence.
Not that I preach abstinence - I'm a big fan of sex - but you've still got to know that anything is possible.

for me - I went off of BC last winter because I couldn't stand the hormones anymore. It's nice to finally have a sex drive again. We use condoms. I don't really know what we'll do after the wedding, because FH wants to stop using them, but I refuse to go back on the BC. We don't plan on having kids for a while yet - we're still pretty young.

I might try the 'rhythm method' after marriage and leave it to the higher power.....
