i just wanted to share my situation in light of the post about being a stepmom. i have 2 sons, tyler and Nicholas from a previous relationship. i was always worried about my kids meshing with my next relationship. but i have to say that i couldnt be happier. my fiance Jackie and my kids have such a great relationship, that it fills my heart with happiness. my kids and my fiance are my 2 favorite things in the world, and when i have them all together, i am on top of the world.
my oldest son is 5 and a half. when i bring him to my house, he goes off and tells Jackie about everything he did in school, without her even asking. he doesnt even tell me this stuff!!! they get along so well.
kids will be kids, so they tend to get into some trouble. every so often, jackie has to 'yell' at them. and it's the cutest thing when she does. i see her and my kids morphing into a family, and it makes me ecstatic. i love how it all came together. i love that we will be a family forever, and i'm excited to have more kids with my fiance.

That is the sweetest post john. First of all- your kids are amazing and so easy to get along with. But I've been Jackie with them, and she doesn't just get along with them, she really bonds with them. I love your little family!

you are TOO cute & that picture is adorable. I am also a step mom (well soon to be) i met her when she was 10 and she just turned 16 - it was NOT always as good as it is now it was hard and challenging. But i also grew up with a step mom who i have considered my 'mom' for almost 25 years - i think it depends on the situation - i dont know what the other post was about but that was a nice story to share & you guys look very happy. You are more leinant (spelling) then my fiance i was never allowed to repremand her ever - now its different but it was rough!

I just wish Disney and PIxar would stop demonizing the Step Mother. I won't see 'Up' because the boy has an evil Step Mother. Cinderella had an evil StepMother...I can go on and on...
It's horrible how most of the population views a blended family.
It IS possible for all parties (including the parents and future Steps) to get along...
