spinoff to Tilde's post - what gives brides a bad name?

When girls say - 'my RH or church said I can't do this - but I'm going to do it anyway.'

I think it was TGsLady who brought up the 'stench of entitlement' - that's what I smell everytime I see a post like that.

what do you think gives brides a bad name?

i think bridezilla's give us a bad rep sometimes, b/c the first thing i heard from one of my friends was 'well i hope you don't turn into one of those nasty bridezillas'

it bothered me

I agree Jenn!

I mean my Church doesnt allow Isle Runners and Petal tossing. I would have loved to DIY my own IR. But hey now I cut out costs that I didn't really need to spend so I think it worked out for the better.

But NO WAY IN HE11 would I have gone ahead and done it anyway even though they said no. I mean come on now. When a vendor tells you their rules/regulations and limits whatever it may be- OBEY! I mean even if they are silly rules if you want them to do your wedding get off your high horse and obey them! Yea you are paying them top dollares to do their job and I am sure everyone feels at times they should be able to make requests to their vendors. But when it comes to disobeying rules such as ones my Church has I am just being ignorant and selfish!!

JMO!!!!!! Sorry I am agreeing with oyu Jenn not yelling at you!!

Yep, this'll do it. EWWW!

Also, brides that don't take into consideration their groom. It's THEIR day and only THEIR day.

YES!!! I love how my FH is so involved it makes me realize how important this day is to both of us. He even suggested writing our own vows. I kinda said No because I get such stage fright that just stnaidng in front of everyone alone is going to kill me haha

Thinking you are the only bride to ever walk down an aisle and acting accordingly would definely give us a bad name...

....but I think that comes with 'Bridezilla' territory.

I find the more non-chalant I act the more people are willing to help (and with a smile!, imagine that!) Last week when I was at my hall there were like 4 people waiting to see the BM that was there. I was only there to drop off a check and ask a question. When the BM's assistant told me that he was busy and I really couldn't speak with him I didn't make a scene or a face or get an attitude I said 'No problem I can just come in another time, no big deal'. Well the BM overheard that and physically escorted me by the hand to his office and told me that he always had time for his brides. I asked my question and was out in 10 minutes. I felt so special, had I made a scene it would have been totally different.

That's my anecdote for the day and now I'm rambling
