Spinoff to Tipping Question

Spinoff to Tipping Question

So we have a DJ and MC (2 man team) and I am figuring to give them around $75 each. But, we also have a steel drummer for the CH who is an independant musician that we got through our DJ company (meaning the cost of the steel drummer I believe all goes to the steel drummer).

What would you tip in this siuation? I don't think we should tip him as much as the DJ and MC considering we are just using him for an hour and that's it.

So, I'm thinking around $30-$40 - is that good?

I think so - i was even thinking $25.

We have a 3 piece steel drumb band and we are in the same boat as you - got it through the DJ type deal and we have a 2 man crew from the DJ.

So we have to tip 3 of the guys - I might just do $30 to make it even.

i asked my dj about tipping the individual musicians we hired and he said that $25 was sufficient.

I was talking to the potential band people and he said 25 per piece (which are playing for 4 hours) and double for MC - so I would say 25 would be fine for drummers.....
