that is high for the RD...it's a mini wedding.

traditionally, it was the

couple, their parents, their siblings, the bridal party and grandparents. over time, OOT guests got thrown in 'so they aren't bored.' but what i found was that being they're coming to LI/NYC, almost all of our OOTs found something to do in the city or bought tickets in advance to a game or show in the city! definitely hope you can cut it down.

because FI's family is from Boston, MA, his Mom, who hosted the RD, invited them all. We had 65, including our 19 person bridal party.

I ony had the bridal party there which is actually my entire immediate fam. as well as DH's. Besides the parents, it was only for the bridal party.

in my family it has been:

the bridal party
the parents
the grandparents
siblings

OOT guests

usually around 30 people. . . will probably be around that number for us.

We're probably having around 60 people. I started making the list and it was a lot longer so I had to cut some people (my mom wanted all her siblings and my first cousins that lived in the area as well as BP and oot guests).

Our initial guest list was bigger (mainly my side) so it caused a big who's paying for what discussion (I won't call it an argument because we actually handled it very calmly and civilly).

ETA: For a 120 person wedding though, 75 guests is a lot of people! Our guest list is a lot higher than that!

Thanks everyone..I guess I am not the only one with a big RD...I just feel that in comparison to my actually wedding it is too big...I feel like people are going to get to the wedding and feel like they'vs been there done that.. sorry I am a little bummed about this...

We are hoping to have 40 because we had to guarantee 40, but we will most likely have around 30 which includes bridal party, immediate family and OOT family.

We had under 30 people. My aunt and cousin invited themselves, so DH and I had to pay for them...and we had to pay for the alcohol b/c MIL wanted to make everyone pay for themselves (like SIL's RD), so we offered to pay for some of it.

And DH's A$$ uncle insisted on getting mixed drinks when he KNEW that we had a package including beer and wine (and GOOD beer and wine).

Please, nothing made me more nuts then our RD!
