How did you choose your dogs name??? Does it have a meaning????
Ok here are mine: **Toby: after the baby on Labyrinth **Lukin: after a Pearl Jam song **Tinkerbell Madonna Blue: after the fairy, the singer, and her baby eyes
and their babies: *Chloe: after Olivia Newton-John's daughter *Lulu: after the singer *Stoli: after the alcohol *Hulk: cuz he was the runt *Mr. Big: after Sex & The City
*Maude: i think its cute & funny *Midge: once again, i think its funny *LArry David: after larry david & eogara's dog *Iggy: who knows, FH picked out that one
(my next dog is going to be a hairless chinese crested im going to name Dharma)

The breeder said I should name him something that sounded like his origin. Jack Russells were used in England and Ireland to hunt rats, and so we came up with Murphy.

i 4got about AKC names. Tink doesnt have one she's registereed with the CAC.. nothing special. but Lukin is Bismark's Lukin Lookin Good

My dog was named Tyson after Mike Tyson because when we first got him he LOVED to lick ears. (Mike Tyson bit someone's ear). Plus he is a little tough guy.

Our sheperd mix is Midori - I did not pick it. She was adopted with that name and I thought it best not to change it since she was over a year old. She also will answer to Buffy the Shoe Slayer at times.
Our Rottie, is Honeybear, or Bear for short. I blame DH's family for that one.

Gizmo because she looks like the evil Gremlin.
Angel because she was so tiny and sick when we first got her, I kept praying that the angel's wouldn't take her overnight.
Sprinkles, for the obvious. One look in her direction and she pees everywhere. Such a nervous nelly! Plus it was raining when we got her.
Scutches (he's a cat) because when we first got him he was digging up everything in sight. I said to him 'Now I know why you ended up in the pound my friend. I'm not going to have you scutchying up my new furniture '

My English Pointer is Satchmo. We named him after legendary musician Louis 'Satchmo' Armstrong. My DH and I met in New Orleans where Louis Armstrong is from.

Mr. Blue because he looks like a little man - a 'Mr.' for sure with his squishy face. Also because I love Reservoir Dogs (the movie)...and because I love the color blue and someone special to me whose name started with the letter M passed away, so I used it for my baby's name as a way to honor him. Lots of reasons, as you can see!
ETA: He's a blue point Himmy too.

FH named her peanut because she was so tiny (2lbs) when we got her and she was the shade of a peanut.

Our Lab: BABY....we tried to think of a name for so long and kept referring to her as 'our baby' in the meanwhile...By the time we picked a name she was responding to 'Baby' so it stuck....lol
Our Cat: PIGGY....they had named her that from North Shore Animal League because she ate so much. Funny part is she was never and still isn't fat. She's such a weirdo

Brodie comes from a character in Mallrats, which in turn was an homage from Kevin Smith to Jaws' Captain Brodie.
We had no idea what to name him, so I went to our DVD collection of favorite movies and started picking out names. Brodie was the one that made it into both of our top 3, so Brodie it was!!

Roxanna Lynne...I had the name picked out before I had her (roxy)...I don't know why I just liked it...Lynne is my middle name..

Brooklyn Trouble: got his name because we drove all the way to bensonhurst to get an apricot poodle. 2 hrs pass and did not like the damn poodle...i go to a bodega to get soda and chips, which of course you cannot eat in the store. 2 more hours pass, still no dog and still bensonhurst. i finally tell dh i am leaving, on the way out he spotted the white furball sleeping. we get the furball...hour of traffic on the bqe. note, we had gone to sheepshead bay the night before. we get home and dh says, that is the 2nd time and last time i have been to brooklyn in 10 yrs. he said we should call the puppy brooklyn. trouble is self explanory...edible or not he is going to eat it and leave a path of crap.
