my friend read her boyfriends journal, and it was like opening pandoras box!! lets just say she read things she wish she never ever read!!! changed everything about there relationship...

No, because I wouldn't want him to read mine. That's my place to vent and say what's really on my mind - which sometimes I cannot or do not want to share with DH. It can be serious, or it can be totally silly, or totally stupid, but I know that I'm the only one who will ever see it....and that's a comfort

no....sometimes you need a personal outlet for things thats private. Plus if he was cheating on me or was unhappy in the relationship, I doubt he would write it down!

as for my friend..she read all this horrible stuff he had written about her!!!!!!! and he still doesnt even know she read this, so now everything he says or does she doubts about him..she found about little lies he told her and everything..needless to say in my opinion i think that relationship will b short lived--with no trust there is no relationship!!,..mind u she is addicted to the dam journal and he has no clue..she pretended to b sick so she can stay at his place when he went to work and she could read more of whats in it..i would never b able to stay with someone who wrote some of the mean things about her that he wrote...

journals and/or diaries are totally private and OFF LIMITS to anyone , even your SO.
I have kept journals my entire life and I when I was in high school my own MOTHER read mine .. I was so hurt.
it took me such a long time to forgive her for invading my privacy
