Spitz and Peck/Stefan's vs. other florists

hey girls,
so i know there are some older threads that discuss this, i was hoping for some new input because my potential wedding venue has a contract with s&p and stefans stating the brides have to use them...it seems they run expensive to other places...anyone use them recently or want to share their experiences with them....thanks

A friend of mine used S&P and her bok and centerpieces were amazing!

i went with spitz and peck, as i too had to choice between the two. I was super nervous cause I had heard that they were so expensive, but I just looked the royalton too much to give it up for that!

I think they work with your budget, it just depends what you want..

i hear ya...i have heard they are both really expensive, but appears a lot of people do like the work they do...i'm just nervous because from what i hear flowers are the one thing the prices can be across the board for...and i guess i'm nervous of being taken advantage of because you have to choose one of the two to be at royalton

We are using Stefans and so far their customer service has been amazing!!! I highly recommend them. We have attended events and have seen pictures on facebook from other friends who went to weddings where Stefans was used and they do a beautiful job. One of my BM got married at the Royalton and used S&P and loved her flowers too! I don't think you can go wrong with either!

ive heard spitz & peck do great work but i can tell you compared to other florists they are on the high end
did you already sign the contract? see if you can negotiate to not have to use a house florist

i went to a wedding at your venue and the flowers were really nothing special. if you could pay to opt out of the contract, do it. you might end up spending less for nicer flowers.

spitz&peck wanted to charge me $3000 more than flowers by brian and pedestals for the same thing

do u have to use them or stefans? i'd look around if you're not tied down

i just re-read your post. before you sign your contract with your RH, just tell them that you already booked your florist and you can't use their 'house' florists

a trick i learned from another bride on here

i got married at the royalton too and we used Stefan's. Prices were about the same but the service we received at Stefan's was much better. Spitz and Peck we met with the most obnoxious and rude saleswomen who seemed to forget we were the customers. it turned me off so much.

yea except to not use them is a 1500 bond payment...and considering i've asked them every which way to opt out of it, i'm not sure they would go for the 'booked already' lie hahaha

wow really...out of the two i was probably going to go with spitz and peck because i've seen their work and they are close to me...but i don't wanna deal with jerks either...

on another note...if you don't mind me asking, how did u like you're royalton wedding? were you torn between there and somewhere else? when was it and how many people?

sorry, just saw this! royalton was amazing. they went above and beyond my wildest dreams and helped make sure everything ran smoothly. once we saw the royalton i knew i wanted to get married there and stopped looking at other places. i got married last october 17, and we had about 220 people.

did you have plenty of room for dancing with that amount of people? also, did the cocktail space allow for enough room for all those people? im worried if it rains about fitting everyone indoors? do you remember how much your flowers wound up costing and who you went with? did you do high pieces?

My friend booked Spitz and only paid $3000 for 18 tables, so I don't know about these crazy prices. I went to see them for 20 tables and they quoted me high 3's but definitely not the most expensive, about the same as Brian and less than Bayview Florist. I liked them better then Brian, very creative and different stuff. I went with Distinctive but good luck! They are both good florists I worked at a catering hall a few years back and people always used both and loved them.
