While there are negative reviews about them, I have friends that have had positive experiences with them. They are one of two or three required florists for most temples on Long Island, and I think that if they had a poor reputation, the temples would stop using them. I would run a search on the Brides Review board to see if anyone has used them and fm them about their experiences. (One bride that comes to mind is NYC04). Merely 'hearing' bad things or good for that matter from people who have not actually used a vendor yet shouldn't make or break your decision. I would speak to people that have actually used them.
I just booked Spitz and Peck last week. I was a little nervouse because of the reviews on here but I met with Brian in the Huntington office and he was amazing. I just loved the work that they had there as samples there. The price that they gave me was in the same price range as other florists I had checked out. I would go and meet with them. We had a great feeling with them and they seem so creative and accomidating. I like the fact that the day of your wedding they come to your house with the flowers in water and put the bouquets together in front of you this way they last longer through out the day.
I met with Brain also and although he was sweet he did not bring any interesting ideas to the table. Everything they had there was not really my style.
Well, I have heard that they do beautiful work, but they are a bit pricey IMO. I met with them, but ended up getting a MUCH better deal elsewhere.
The price that I was quoted from Spitz and Peck was the same as the other florist that I priced out. I expected them to be really expensive and I was shocked at the quote they gave me.
When I looked for florists I could only pick b/t S&P and Stephan's. I went to the Cedarhurst offices for both. I brought pictures of the flowers, bouquet, centerpieces, and huppa that I wanted. I told them the exact same number of tables and requirements. For the same stuff Stephan's quoted me $5,000 and S&P quoted me $8,500.
My sister and best friend both used Spitz & Peck and their flowers were absolutely beautiful. My sister's were late, arrived well into us taking pictures....and they did not decorate the cake as they had promised. There were really only petals put on it they paid $100. But like I said the flowers were excellent quality and beautiful.
