sports themed wedding

my fh is a sports FREAK....between the rangers, giants, and mets its sports all year round.....not to mention he plays in a hockey league, basketball league and golfs at least once a week.....

I feel like I've been taking over this wedding and there are a few things he asked for which I think I'm going to give in to......

firstly he wants us to walk out to the rangers goal song (I was thinking of making up custom jerseys, and he would wear the #5 and I would wear #29 for our wedding date)

Another thing is I mentioned to him that someone had mr met at their cocktail hour and he went crazy and now wants it

If we were to go for a sports type theme I was going to make the table cards like game tickets and maybe get some sort of cake topper that has to do w/ sports

The last idea was to give out crackerjack boxes as favors

That would be the extent of the sports bc I dont want it to be too crazy

i say as long as it's done tastefully, the sports themed items could be really cute. i really like the idea of using game tickets as your place cards- it's a more understated way of incorporating sports into the wedding than say, little plastic baseballs with people's names on them.

i actually like all of your ideas. they're not over the top, and they make the wedding more personal for your FH. i think it's always important to make them feel like you're incorporating their ideas too.

I think its a really cute idea. I got a garter from my FHs college. For our engagement party we are doing a yankee cake. I have a friend who can make anything into a cake. She is amazing!! She did chocolate covered strawberries that looking like a bride and a groom. I was gonna see if she could do little baseball players to go with the cake. I like the cards on the tables that look like tickets. Thats actually really cute!!

I don't have a wedding theme....hmm
