Has anyone chosen theirs yet? I told FH that he could pick the song since I chose the 1st dance song. Am I correct in assuming the the spotlight dance is a fairly new thing. I've never heard of it before last year.

The difference between the 1st dance and the spotlight dance is #1 the obvious. The 1st dance happens 1st. #2 your bp joins in and usually your guests also at the end of the song for the 1st dance
The spotlight dance is another dance (special song) for you and FH that only the 2 of you dance to. No one is supposed to join in.
I have heard that some & just use theor 1st dance as their spotlight dance.

I guess it's really up to you. Jimmy and I don't really have a slow song that's ours. (Our song is Diamond Girl, lyrics not so good for a wedding ) I guess the only reason why I want to do the spotlight song is because I picked the 1st dance FH agreed but didn't really give any imput on it. I wanted him to pick something he felt was special too!

FH would so NOT go for being the only ones on the dance floor. He doesn't like to be in front of a lot of people. Plus, there are so many dances as it is.
One that my sis did, that I def want to do, is that she danced with all the men in her life. Starting from my father to grandfather, uncles and so on, leading up to her husband. it was really sweet and added some good photo ops.
