Spray tan question

I had a spray tan once (actually, in my avatar pic) that was OK. I liked the color but it wasn't even and wound up splotchy despite my following directions exactly. So I was thinking for my wedding I wanted to see if I could to the kind of spray tan where you stand in front of someone who sprays it on you directly.

Anyone ever done this? Where? How much was it? Would you recommend it?

I went to Beach Bum...don't remember the exact price but it was around $75 but i think that included 2 sessions. i like it better bc they can mix a color for you rather than the machine which is one standard color. You can go as naked as you wanna go...I wore my thong but went topless to avoid tanlines...but if ur not comfortable you could wear a strapless or something.

airbrush tanning can help hide acne, acne scars, varicose veins, stretch marks and scars just to mention a few. It will not make these blemishes go away but the tanning treatment helps to camouflage the marks. We would recommend that you come in for a trial at least 2 weeks before your wedding, sooner is fine too. Maybe for your engagement pictures or for a summer weekend.




How many tanning treatments will I need to achieve a tan?

You will only need ONE treatment to see the tanning effect.



How long do I have to wait for the 'tanning effect' to take place?

You will have a bronzed body by the time you exit the salon!



How long does the process take?

The whole process should take 15 minutes. It takes approximately 5 minutes to be

airbrushed and 5 minutes to dry. Allow 5 minutes for dressing and undressing.



How long will my airbrushed tan last?

The tan lasts approximately 5-7days, for some people it lasts up to 10 days.

Seven days is the average. Some people still see a slight tan line and have a soft glow

on day ten.



I have really fair skin, the type that always burns. Will this treatment work on my type of skin?

Absolutely! Our solution works great on ALL types of skin tones. Whether you have fair,

medium or dark skin, you will see fabulous results! Fair skinned clients LOVE our

treatment because it is the only way they can obtain a tan without burning and peeling!



Does Brazil Bronze offer different shades of tan?

YES! You can be as light or as dark as you desire! The shades range from a soft sun-

kissed glow to a deep dark sultry tan. There are ranges in between as well.

Our most common requests are light, medium and lighter side of medium.

Whether you want to look like you have just arrived from a Caribbean vacation or if you

want to just simply look like you have a natural soft shade of olive skin, we can achieve

your PERFECT look!



Is This Safe?

The active ingredient is dihydroxyacetone (DHA). DHA has been approved by the FDA

since the 1970’s. It is the same ingredient in all of the safe self tanning over the counter

products.



How Does DHA work?

Very simply, DHA reacts with the amino acids, or proteins, in the epidermis. Our

epidermis is the outermost layer of skin, which is composed of dead skin cells. It

takes about four hours for the reaction to be complete.



What should I wear during my airbrush treatment?

Most women wear an old bikini, underwear and bra, just a thong, or nothing at all.

Most men choose wear their bathing suit or boxer briefs.



Should I get sprayed the same day I have a special affair?

NO! We recommend that you get sprayed one, two and sometimes three days before

a special affair. It all depends on the tan you desire.



Can I get sprayed the same day as a just a 'night out on the town'?

Yes, you can go out right afterwards. BUT, keep in mind you must wait 6 - 12 hours before you shower.



Can I get airbrushed for my wedding my day?

ABSOLUTELY! A large part of our customer base are brides.

Airbrushing can lend that perfect look you desire for you wedding day.

We recommend that brides come in for a trial, as they would for their hair and makeup.

Some brides like to come in for their engagement pictures or for their shower!

Brides should also be sprayed 2-3 days before the big day.



Will I be streaky, blotchy, and orange like I did after using the spray booths?

NO, NO and NO! We use a revolutionary hand held airbrush technique that avoids

streaking and lends perfect coverage. We have a special small airbrush to spray the

hands and feet to avoid the blotchy effects caused by automated spray booths. Brazil

Does the solution rub off on my clothing?

There is a chance it will rub off on your clothing DIRECTLY after you get sprayed. It

should NOT come off on your clothing after you shower. We recommend not wearing white

Will the airbrush tanning solution wash out of my clothing?

It washes out of cotton fabrics. Spray and Wash usually does the trick with other fabrics.



What should I wear directly after my airbrush tanning treatment?

Be sure to bring LOOSE fitting DARK COTTON clothing - NO JEANS and NO

WHITE clothing. The solution will rub off a bit on your clothing until you

shower.



How long do I have to wait until I shower?

It is best to wait 6-12 hours before you shower.



Can I workout immediately after my treatment?

We recommend that you do not workout/sweat until after your first shower.



When should I call to schedule an appointment?

There is no time limit as to when you should call for an appointment. Two days

to one week in advance is when most clients choose to call. In order to be sure

you reserve a time that is most convenient for you, we do recommend that you

call as far in advance as possible.

I didn't know you could do half body spray tan! THAT'S WHAT I WANNA DO!!! I mean, we're going to Dublin, London and Iceland on our HM ... no need to spray tan the bottom half of me!

I'm going to try it on Oct. 1. I am a BM in someone's wedding on Oct. 3 so I figured it was a good time to try it. I will definitely let you know how it goes!

Thanks again - I am such a spaz and wasn't really sure how to go about finding a place. But this is super informative - even though GN is nowhere near me I'm just going to go here because of all the info they give you.

I had it done and it was awesome. It lasted for about a week. You definately need to make sure that your exfoliated, shaved and not wearing any moisturizer/lotion ...like right out of the shower; clean.

I did it for my wedding and loved it. I would recommend you try it before your wedding. Also I would recommend that you go 2-3 days before your event. so if your getting married on a Sat go on wed or thurs. I think it smells alittle the next day even after you shower. You dont want to smell at your wedding ;)

It seriously is so much better then the tanning beds and it makes me feel 10 pounds slimmer instantly! LOL
