spray tans

what skin tone do you have?
does it really look natural?
where do you go?
how much does it cost?
does a person apply it for you?
how long does it last?

i'm a ghost = really pale. i want a little bit of color for the wedding but don't want to look orange!!!!

....and i don't tan naturally so sitting out in the sun won't work

Re: spray tans

i tried the air brush tan for the first time last month... it looked really really good, very natural looking.

im like olive, but right now very pale hahah i really havent been in the sun!
the girl i went to, she sprayed me with a mixture she made based on my skin tone and what look i wanted to achieve.

i would suggest going to a place that sprays you, like a salon...

it cost $60 where i went, but everything is over priced where i live.

i cant tell you how long it lasted, because a couple days after i was throw in a pool twice (with white shorts no less) in a row, and chlorine and tanner dont mix....

edited the price!!! i wish it was $40! hahahaha

I have extremely pale Irish skin.
It looked incredibly natural. I got so many compliments and many people asking where I went on vaca.
I went to Beach Bum
It was $35 for the first time (including the glycolic toner, whatever that is, and the moisture lock spray). After the first time is $45 and the toner/moisture lock are extra (I think it came out to $60?).
A woman applies it for you with a spray gun. It's really cold so be prepared for that.
The first time mine lasted about 2.5 weeks but I was really good about maintaining it- moisturizing, patting myself dry, etc. The second time I did it, it faded after about a week but that was after a week in Bermuda in the sand and the salt water.

I highly reccommend it though. I plan to do it for every big occasion! HTH!

ETA: The first time I did the lightest color (#1- I think it's called 'Natural') and it looked beautiful. The second time I did a mix of the lightest and the second lightest (#1 & #2, I think they were 'Natural' and 'Beach'). It looked great the second time, a little darker. When I go back again I will do the same mix of #1 & #2.

Edited again to add: Make sure it's the 'Custom Airbrush Tan' though and not the spray tan booth. Those tend to come out streaky.

The first time I did it, it didn't come off on my clothes at all. I guess right after you do it, while it's drying it did but I purposely wore bummy clothes for that reason. (And when I washed them, it all came right off) Not thinking, I wore a white shirt to work the next day and nothing came off on the shirt.

However, when I got it done for the wedding, it did come off a little on the inside of the dress. Nothing that you could see when I had the dress on and not on the outside of it at all. It's just because the dress was clingy and heavy and it was 80 degrees and HUMID on the wedding day. I was sweating like crazyyyyy.

ETA: I'd say get it done 2 days in advance. You have to wait 6 hours to rinse yourself off and then wait another 6 hours to take a real shower (with soap and warm water, etc.). So I did it that afternoon, rinsed before bed, and showered in the morning.

I am thinking of doing it but I am afraid it will get all over my dress

I go to Brazil Bronze Glow Bar SoHo. Its $60 per tan, but you can buy a package and it comes to $30. Its a person who sprays you, you select which color you want and they spray and then you stand in front of a fan to dry. You shower 12 hours later and it lasts perfectly for a day or 2, and then starts to wear off

I am olive (but a pale olive) skin tone normally and I did the light tan option which is great for summer, but too dark for wedding dress (IMO).

There is a lighter shade that I am planning on testing out called natural glow.

i am naturally really pale

i did spray tanning on Wednesday and got Married Friday.....by Friday it looked natural!! Definitely go at least 2 days before the wedding so the color has time to settle in (pics of my RD on thurs i still look uber tan)

it does come off on your clothes initially but it comes right out and doesnt stain. Nothing rubbed off on my dress though.

i went to beach bum....I got the airbrush and actually was sprayed by a guy which was a little weird but whatever...I am sure they have seen worse

OK ladies, you talked me into it! I have been on th fence about doing this...just scheduled for July 16th, two days before my shower...so I can do a test run before the wedding.

And, I made sure if I asked if it was a woman or a man...I am shy about going topless, and I would never have the balls if it was a guy!

Haha I can't blame you! I thought it had to be a woman if it was a woman getting sprayed, but I guess I'm wrong.

You're gonna love it though!
