Spraying flowers??

So I wanted to have a very deep plum flower preferably callilys or roses I was told they would have to be sprayed?! Any one getting their flowers sprayed? Or have had their flowers sprayed for centerpiece provide any advice ? Is this ok to do? If the flower is submerged in water will it turn the water purple

FYI I'm very clueless in the flower department

I had deep purple calla lilies as my bouquet. As far as I know, they are naturally deep purple. Never heard of spraying?

Ask you florist for schawrtzwalder calla Lillie's just make sure it is a lighter batch because they can sometimes be really dark (almost black). That's what I am going to be using.

I expressed this concern to my florist and she said that when she places the order she orders a variety of the schwartzwalder callas that are lighter and have the purple coloring. I was still a little nervous so she said that when she gets her next order in she will send me pics! I would just express your concern aboout them and see what they can do. I was also told be another florist that they would order burgundy calla's. I am not sure if those are the same as the schwartzwalder but they are a deep plum. As for other flowers to bring in the purple I saw a deep purple hydrangea and I think dahlia's come in a deep purple. HTH

No problem I am using Bella Flowers in Huntington. Cristina (the owner) is so nice. I loved her the second I walked in to the store. She is not afraid to give you pointers and to tell you if she thinks something is not going to work. She really wants to make sure everything looks amazing.

How about the purple lisianthus? I wanted dark purple roses so distinctive floral told me that the lisianthus I looks like a rose in bloom, so that's what I'll be using!
