Sprint is robbing me!!!!! Need advice

Sprint is robbing me!!!!! Need advice

I switched to Verizon wireless last month and Sprint is slapping me with an early termination fee of $160!

it's TOTAL BS because I never signed a 2 year contract when I added an additional line to my plan for my DH (in Jan. 2004). we were on the phone with them for an hour last night and they can't even PROVE that I signed a 2 year contract. They said it was a verbal agreement what kind of a contractual agreement is VERBAL??!!!!!!!!

We got nowhere with them and they told us we have until Feb 2006 to pay before it goes to a collection agency. I filed a complaint with the BBB. But I have a feeling that will get me nowhere either.

does anyone have any advice on how I can dispute this?

I had a problem with AT&T wireless.

Write to the BBB and the FCC which has a federal and state office. CC everything to them. You will have to keep calling but you will eventually get what you want.

they should have a contract...ask them to provide else, they don't have a case

i would think if you did add a phone (change your plan cause it cost more) it could renew it, but you would of needed a signed contract explaining that...

ask them for the contract ....

Or you could contact the Attorney General's office.

that's the thing, they have no proof, no contract, nothing! that is infuriating! they can't prove anything and yet they have the power to make my credit report look bad now!

Write them a letter requesting proof of contract and/or legal documentation to back up their claims. Tell them that if they cannot provide this you will consider the matter closed. Also tell them that you will not field any phone calls on this matter, only paper correspondence. When they do call, simply remind them of that fact.

I believe that there is a privacy law that allows for this level of consumer protection, a friend of mine did this once.

there may be something in your original contract that says that any changes to the plan will constitute a renewal of the term. Do you have the original contract anywhere? Maybe you can get a copy of it.

SPRINT S*CKS!!! I know that doesn't help your situation, but I really really hate Sprint. Their service and customer services totally stinks!

As a previous Verizon Wireless employee, I know from an insiders perspective that ALL 2YR Agreements have to have a signed contract. If we renewed over the phone we had to either mail or fax the contract to the customer and were not allowed to change the contract end date until we received the signed paperwork... But I worked there over a year ago and things may have changed in the wireless world since then... Hope this helps

I had to deal with that with Nextel. I didn't get anywhere with the customer service people. So I looked online and found the number to their main head quarters and got the VP of customer service's office. I ask to speak with him, the assistant wanted to know what it was regarding and I told her. She took care of it for me. You have to go as high as you can.

they could not provide me with proof of anything at all. we asked them for ANYTHING, any kind of contract and they said they don't have a thing to justofy their case against me, but yet are not crediting me that money.

With every wireless company they will change your end date if you make any changes whatsoever to your account (like adding a new line, or changing plans). The person that handled your new line should have told you that your end date will change. Sometimes they ust assume you know this. It has to be something in the original contract that says they can do this. Maybe it is written on the bill, they have to have SOMETHING!
