St. Isidore's Church in Riverhead

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone is getting married at St. Isidore's. I've been having a lot of trouble getting the priest to call me back so I can make an appointment with him. Has anyone experienced anything similar? What did you do? I don't want to keep calling, but I really need to finalize our plans.

I'm getting married there! It's beautiful and Fr. Kuznik is so nice. I needed to ask them some questions so I tried calling last weekend but there was no answer (but I assumed it was because it was a Sat and there was an afternoon Mass) and then FH called again today and he had to leave a message. Hmmmmm.... I wonder what is going on!

Maybe they are only there in the mornings or something... I'm not sure but he is awesome and I love the church

I'm not getting married there, but this seems to be the running consensus about churches in general. My priest took about 3 days to call me back the first time, and that was after leaving 2 messages. Now I usually communicate with my priest via email and he's much more prompt in his responses.

FH received a call back from the secretary yesterday, have you been able to contact her? You should be able to set something up with the priest through her at least..

Actually, we still have not been able to reach the priest. I am so frustrated by this, I've been having my FH call. He speaks to the secretary who sympathizes with him, but still no call back. I think, between my FH and I, we've left at least 4 messages in the last 2 weeks. Just wondering, how long until your first call back. The secretary says she can't make an appointment for us, because Fr. Kuznik makes his own appointments. Any suggestions for what I should do? And did you meet with him on a weekend or weekday?

THANKS for your help!

He just transferred to that parish last summer. I had actually called before he got there and the priest at the time told us we had to wait since Fr. Kuznik would be there in two months so we should just wait to talk to him. The secretary set up our appt at the time, I guess he wants to schedule his own appts now. That is strange that he is not calling you back, we had no problem contacting him.

Did the secretary say anything why he may be taking so long?

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time, but I would still give him a chance. He is a really down to earth guy, we couldn't be happier with him and the church. They don't have any of those rules about decorating or throwing petals or anything either that many churches have.

Good luck!
