we have been there a few times, we go every summer. The best restaurant is Taj...everyone talks about chatau bordoux but its really no big deal. there is really good horse back riding, you go all the way up to the highest point of st john, its called corral bay and its very rugged just to ket you know. also you can take the ferry to st thomas where there are tons of awesome restairants, the Moffali hotel is the best. you are thousands of feet up overlooking ht ewater, ill try to find some pics for you. The snorkeling is amazing in both places. A great tour is of the totollo islands which is part of british island. also the caves are amazing.

Re: St. John

we love St.John, we're planning to hit the Virgin Islands for our HM. Staying @ the Westin in St. John, a place in St. Thomas for a few days & Tortola, which is a short boat ride's distance from St. John....

We considered St. John, it was our second choice, ended up at Virgin Gorda instead---all the Virgin Islands are beautiful!! We were going to stay at Caneel Bay in St. John if we went there, we stayed at the sister resort, Little DIx Bay--pure paradise!!!

That resort looks amazing!
We can trade our timeshare into the westin, so this is where we will probably stay.

FH and I went to St. John a few years ago - it's our FAVORITE place....we're spoiled now, every vacation gets compared to it. My FH had traveled to lots of tropical places with his family before (including Hawaii), and he said this was his favorite too.

We stayed at the Westin...very nice, and a great welcome with cold towel and fruity drink!

The people on the island are great, you feel safe walking around and taking the unique taxis (pickup trucks with benches in the back - cheap too), and each restaurant is better than the last.

Definitely check out the Beach Bar....great place to chill - an outdoor bar that's just 3 steps down to the beach...take your drink, sit on the beach or the nearby hammock and enjoy the live music (usually Buffet style).

We started out our trip hearing a couple next door saying they were looking at a timeshare - which I didn't understand...by the end of it, I wanted to live there....in fact, that's what a lot of people do....lots of people we talked to were from somewhere in the states, visited, and never left.

Check out this newsletter of a local shop....

Enjoy!!! I can't wait to go back!
