Hi ladies! Has anyone honeymooned in St.John or St.Thomas? or plans to honeymoon there? Can you share some feedback about the trip? Were there enough things to do? Thanks!

I went to St thomas twice on a cruise and it remains my fav island it is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The shopping there is amazing, so is the liquor. The beaches are beautiful as well!!!!!!!!!!!! We went to megans bay it is a beach on best westerns property!!!!!!!! It was very secluded and peaceful!!!!!

FOr a HM I would suggest St Johns over St Thomas. St Thomas is very commercial where St John is more secluded. You can ferry between a bunch of the islands

I went to St. Thomas and St. Maarten on a cruise. I Both were very nice. St. Thomas has a ton of shopping, but I actually liked St. Maarten better.

There isn't much to do at St. Johns. I've been to St Thomas and loved it!

Hi My parents have a house in St Thomas, there are many things to do, but personally I actually like st johns beaches better, but there is less to do in st johns but if you stay in st thomas you can take the ferry over to st johns for the day (15-20min ride)

I went to St. Thomas on a cruise and since FH had been there so many times before, we took a ferry to St. John for the day (just about as long as ferry to Fire Island). St. John is AMAZZZING!!! It's so beautiful and it's def. less crowded than St. Thomas. It's so serene and beautiful - you will LOVE it! I reco staying at Caneel Bay (FH has stayed there before and his pics are amazing), but you can def. just do a day trip like we did if you want.
Trunk Bay beach is the place to go. They have the only underwater museum in the world (it's so cool - when you snorkel it tells you the kind of fish that are near that spot). And Woody's is amazing for 'Bushwhackers' - the drink of the island that puts you ON THE FLOOR!
Ohhh I wish we could go for our HM but it's during hurricane season and we don't want to chance it... booo. You're going to have SO much fun!!

Thanks! I have heard from so many people that St. Johns is beautiful and amazing ...but I guess I am afraid that there will be nothing to do or that we will be bored. I really like that St Thomas is only 20 mins away and if we do get bored...we can spend the entire day exploring St. Thomas or another Island.
If you girls had the choice would you stay at St. John since its quiet and serene and take a day trip to St. Thomas...or vice versa?

hm, i don't know... i've only ever been there on a cruise so never stayed overnight. St. thomas is beautiful - it's definitely serene as well. Can you do both? Stay 3 - 4 days in St. Thomas and then 3 - 4 in St. John? That's probably the best of both worlds!!!

Here's my two cents... it depends on what you are looking for, if you want to do alot of activities and socializing then st thomas has the most bars, restaurants and shows (menaing live bands etc) but if you want you and FH to be alone most of the time then maybe st johns is better. I don't know your budget but hotel stays on either island can be pricey, but st thomas has more hotel options because its bigger so there's more of a chance of their being a range of pricing.
I only go because i have somewhere to stay already because if not the hotel pricing would scare me away! Check out/google Pavillions and Pools in St thomas, its gorgeous and each room has its own pool so you can be alone when you want and go out on the town and socialize when you want.

I've spent a lot of time in both islands and think St. John is much more appropriate for a honeymood. Really peaceful and relaxing.. and you can always hop a ferry to St. Thomas for the day if you want to do shopping etc.

I loved staying at The Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St. Thomas, although for dinner, the food at Agave Terrace in the hotel next door was amazing.

thanks girls! you've been so helpful! we are actually using a family's time share for the week so we get to choose which island we want to stay on. I think going with our first choice...staying in St John's seems like the right option for us. The time share will be at the Westin in St John. Anyone been? How is it?

St Thomas is STUNNING, truly stunning! Lots of beautiful scenary. White/pink sand beach. Meghan's Bay is a MUST see!
And ... you can take a shore exscursion to St Johns on a boat and spend the day there.

I've been to st thomas 3 times on cruises, and LOVED IT. My FH and I plan to take the ferry to St John the next time we go so i can't give an opinion on that idea.
St. Thomas is so awesome, beautiful with so much to do and great shopping!
We didnt stay there overnight so i can't give opinions on nightlight or anything, sorry.
They have a outdoor market by the dock (for the cruises) and we spend about 3 hours there one day, it was amazing!!!
