I am going to Grande for my HM. I have a great TA if you need one too..She is a Sandals Specialist alot of us have used her thanks to Betsy! ewickens (sp?)
a coworker went there on her hm and loved it! the pics looked great! She stayed at this hotel that has three walls. The 4th wall is wide open view of outside.
The name is Ladera.
i am thinking of going..not sure yet!

I heard about Ladera, but ontripadvisor.com they mentioned that a lot of bugs get in your room because of the open wall. That made me think - but the Pitons in St. Lucia are supposed to be gorgeous!!

We went to the Jalousie Plantation All-Inclusive for our HM. It is located right between the two Pitons on the southwest side of the Island. The view is absolutely the prettiest and most lush view I have ever seen. And there is amazing snorkeling right off of the beach. You can walk to it!
We had our own villa with a plunge pool and I LOVED that villa! The food was average though and some of the facilities were not 4 star quality. On the whole though we loved the pool, beach and staff a lot. It is a great place to go if you don't want a crowded resort with dozens of other honeymooners.
GORGEOUS pictures. I was looking into Jalousie, but FH really wanted good food. I'm trying to accomodate his one request!! Thanks!!!

Maybe you can compromise and stay at Jalousie but then go to Ladera for dinner! (It is up the mountain from Jalousie). We went to dinner there twice and loved it. The food was good and the view was spectacular!
I've attached some pics. The first one shows some of the restaurant seating. You should request seating 'on the edge' and go to watch the sunset. The second pic shows the pool at the resort and the third is of us 'at the edge.' It was so hot and humid, our faces were shiny the entire trip! The fourth pic is of the lobby.
BTW, if you stay at the Sandals resorts, you are pretty far away from the Pitons and Ladera. The roads are exceptionally curvy and hilly. It is easy to get car-sick on them. I think the Sandals resorts are at least an hour drive away. Look into going by boat if possible.
yeah, st. lucia is on my hm list mainly b/c of Ladera, however the bug thing will def. bother us! They have a net that goes over your bed but, still! gross!!!

You won't go wrong with a Sandals resort. Although, I'm staying at the one in the Bahamas for mine, I have heard rave reviews about Sandals and everything it provides you!!!!!! Plus, Leslie is a great help when trying to figure out what you want and don't want out of a resort. Sandals or other!
