i think you have to stop in puerto rico to fly into the airport closer to the sandals resorts.
the non-stop flights go to the other airport, i hear that its a far ride on a windy bumpy road to the resorts from there.

I am flying non stop from JFK to Hewanorra Airport in St Lucia on American Airlines
This is the further airport. I have heard it can take 40 minutes to get there or two hours. . .I guess depending on who you ask and who is driving LOL
For me, I hate connections because I always worry about missing them so I would rather fly direct and then have a longer trip to the resort. We are also considering splurging and getting the helicopter transfer to the resort. . .

PS - it says the flight is only 4.5 hours - much less than i would think!

Im not going to St. Lucia for my HM but I think Air Jamaica flies direct from JFK.

we had to stop in San juan....and some advice - TAKE THE PROP PLANE!!!! it's really not that small and i've heard to bus shuttle is absolutely HORRIBLE....riding on the edge of cliffs and such for hours. We took the 'prop' and it really wasnt THAT small...the flight was absolutely fine...me & my FH were talking to another couple & before we knew it we were there! oh & we flew American as well

we're flying Air Jamaica - stops in Barbados, but no switching planes. We stay on the same one, so no chance of missing the connecting flight at least.

they do, that is what we flew last summer. We flew in to the bigger airport which is further away, but the drive wasn't awful, and I HATE connecting flights so it worked out well for us.

I looked everywhere for a nonstop and couldn't find one. Maybe the non stop is seasonal. We're going in September and we're stopping in PR. The plan isn't so small. I think it seats about 100.

we flew out non stop... the difference is that the flight into Puerto Rico lands closer to Sandals, the other airport for the non stops is about an hour drive

Actually they did. Air Jamaica stopped flying direct to St. Lucia in December of '06. They now stop in Barbados
