St. Lucia hotel suggestions
I heard the Sandals Grande St. Lucian is a great resort. I know a few people who have been there and recommended it to us, but we decided on Negril, Jamaica instead.

I am going to Sandals Grande St. Lucian. My coworker recommended it to me. She went this past summer on her honeymoon and said it was great.

The Grande is def in the running but anyone stay at sandals la Toc? We are big beach ppl but are seeing that the beach has mixed reviews. We aren't picky travelers but we'd like a nice beach.

We have done Sandals La Toc TWICE and absolutely loved it. We loved out honeymoon so much we went back for a 2nd time.
I LOVE that there is the active main resort and then the quieter sunset bluffs section, where we styaed both times.
There are 2 issues with the beach as compared to the Grande St. Lucian
1) La Toc and Halcyon are on a part of the island that tends to have more choppy waves. For this reason you will find that some days or times of day there is a yellow or red flag up at the beach warning against waves and that some water sports will not be allowed at that time.
The Grande is on another part of the island and it's in an inlet so it's actually REALLY calm and smooth water, green flag most days
2) The beach is smaller and not as deep as at the Grande. I honestly did NOT find this to be a problem. I don't like to have to walk 100 miles to the water. Most of the people seem to congregate at the main pool. We had butler service both times so we always had our beach chairs reserved, but even so, I never saw any point when all of the chairs were taken. The beach was always pretty empty.
I've done SO much in St. Lucia. 4 or 5 different excursions, SCUBA diving, lots of spa stuff, Candlelight Dinner. So feel free to FM me for more info. Some room locations are also better than others and I've toured many of the rooms, eaten at all of the restaurants at least twice, etc (mainly at La Toc).

I am looking into the the LA TOC, Honeymoon Oceanview 2-story veranduh bulter suite, can you give your opinion on it. My Finance and I are battling between the LA TOC and Grande, the La Toc has better rates and specials...we love the beach, but I am not much of a water sports person.
