St. Lucia vs. Aruba

We are trying to decide about a honeymoon, and are unsure of where to go. Any ladies going to either or have been to either any info would be appreciated! TIA!

although im going to aruba for mine, i would pick st lucia instead... it has more of the adventure side/naturey side that i love

What made you choose aruba than? Do you think that it is nice too?

Both are supposed to be beautiful, but we picked St. Lucia. We REALLY wanted to go to Hawii but it was a little too , so St. Lucia almost seems like a mini-Hawaii. It has the volanoes, rainforests, etc.

Aruba is very dry and pretty much everything is sand - so it's just all beautiful beaches there.

I've been to Aruba and yes, while one side is almost desert like, the water on the hotel side is out of this world. The great thing about Aruba though is that it is out of the hurricane belt. Just something to think about.

my parents gave us their timeshare to use and aruba is the place where we were traded into... st lucia wasnt an option so we couldnt do it...

i feel like aruba is more laid back... the type of vacation where you relax on the beach... i ideally wanted something with a little more action, like hiking up the pitons in st lucia .... when i thought about it more, i went to go cancel the timeshare and just do a long cruise instead, but the timeshare already went through...

im sure we'll still have a great time... i hear aruba is beautiful, food is outstanding, but can be pricey

It was tough deciding between the Grande and the Regency in St. Lucia. The Regency supposedly has better restaurants and we would have gotten a 'nicer' room for our money, but everyone told me the beaches, facilities and water sports at the Grande were better.

Luckily if you stay at one of the resorts you can do anything at the other two for free, so we'll be checking them all out.

pick Aruba!!!!!! ( i have no reasoning it is only b/c that is where I am going)

We stayed at the Grande and your right the regency does have better restaurants. We wanted to go to two restaurants there and they both needed reservations, so we visited our concierge on wednesday and we weren't leaving until monday and we could not get a reservation for either restaurant. So my advice make reservations right away or even before because I could not believe there was no availability at all!

I would totally choose Aruba. St. Lucia on teh outskirts of your hotel is NOT SAFE & pretty much you are confined to all of the hotels. Aruba is safe & you can walk or drive anywhere. The outskirts are nice & not dangerous. Also St. Lucia & Aruba offer the same exact things for sports & activities. Its no different only Aruba you can actually go into town & hangout there. St. Lucia is relaxed just like Aruba maybe even more so because you are confined.

I heard Aruba is one of the safest islands....and I also heard there is 0 nightlife in ST.Lucia...so I would pick Aruba.
