St. Maarten

I was wondering if anyone has been to St. Maarten. My FMIL just got a time share and said we could use it for our honeymoon. Any info would be great!!!!

OMG!! You need to go here on your honeymoon!! FH and I went there on a cruise in February and it was probably the best 10 hours of our lives!! It was February and I was swimming in water that was so clear I couldn't touch the bottom of the ocean but I could see my pink toenails!! Everyone was super friendly and it was just amazing! We were on the Dutch side and spent the day at Divi Little Bay Resorts. We then took a water taxi to Phillipsburg (I think) were we went shopping. Any more questions, feel free to FM me!

Yah!!!! Im so happy to hear good things!!!! I was iffy at first cause its a time share and not sure about whats around it or how the room is. I have to get more info, but im happy to hear you guys love it there. thanks for the info

I stayed at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort. Its literally right at the end of the airport landing strip. Its ao amazing when the planes land, they fly right over the beach....AMAZING. They just recently renovated it. Before I booked this hotel, I read reviews on Trip Advisor and there were mixed reviews.....I was a little worried but after the first day there (on the first trip) I knew I made an awesme choice.

My FH and I went last year on a cruise with another couple and one of the stops was St Marteen... only thing I remember was it was absolutly beautiful, but be prepared for the nude beaches!!
We went to one beach that was topless where we were at so Scott and I decided to go for a walk and b4 I knew it we were in the nude part and everyone was old and ugly.

No really though... it's so amazing there and we were thinking of going again (but staying away from the old balls)

St. Maarten has the best beaches I have ever seen. I love Orient Bay beach on the French side. This is my favorite Caribbean island!!!

We went to Anguilla & St. Bart's on our HM but did day trips to St. Martin....you can see pics in our album....the island is nice but nothing compared to St Bart's or Anguilla...to commercialized.....looks more like FL than Carribean...condo constructions everwhere......nice beaches....Dutch side def better than French, French side very poor.......decent casinos......overall nice but not my favorite......

Best Hotel on the island is La Samanna Hotel same owner as Bora Bora Hotel in Tahiti

FI and I took a trip there this past May to a time share as well. I had never been there and loved it. FYI, if you go, rent a car. It's a small island but the things you will want to see are spread out. And the French side beaches are beautiful!!

Too beautiful...we both got horrific sunburns!!

fh and i have been there a few years ago, its very nice with lots to do! the restaurants are great as well.

i went on a cruise and the beach was so pretty and fun- but crowded- but Im sure there are many others. It was a very nice island from what I saw- we were on the dutch side.

FH is DYING to go there just because of the fact that the planes fly over so low lol ...he's REALLY into planes
