St Martin / St Marteen
Re: St Martin / St Marteen
I've been a few times and always stayed on the French...to my knowledge, the dutch side is where the cruise ships come in and there are more resorts on the french side. The food on the French side is better - imo.
Re: St Martin / St Marteen
I visited St Maarten several times on a cruise but I stayed a whole week at the Oyster Bay hotel it was nice but not near much from what I remember
Re: St Martin / St Marteen
definitively the French side. the people are nicer (ie: less in your face), the atmosphere is nicer, the beaches are fantastic! granted ive never stayed on that side but ive been several time via cruising and as soon as we get off the boat, we book it to the French side! you will love it.

Funny I had the opposite experience. We stayed on the Dutch side and rented a car to the French side. Well! They don't like us American's very well. They were very rude to us. We were happy to make our way back to the Dutch side!
