St. Patricks in Bay Shore

Hey Ladies...

I recently joined St. Patricks RC Church in Bay Shore. When I spoke to them, they said I did not have to be a member to get married there, but I could not book my date until the 1 year mark or less. Then the lady said if I wanted to become a member of the parish, I just had to wait about a month when I got my donation envelopes and then I could book my date. I have been meaning to officially join anyway, so I did. When I left there, she told me that I had to wait until June '08 to book because I am planning on June '09!

Is anyone getting married there, or has gotten married there and booked sooner than the 1 year mark of their date? I am getting nervous about waiting since I already know I have a popular weekend.

HELP!

I wasn't allowed to book before the 1 year mark. I think even if you are a parishiner you have to wait till the year mark. Just make sure you call on June 26 and I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!

I have had a few friends get married there. One getting married the same day I am booked it after the year mark but we work int he area and he is a big part of the community. the others had to wait for the year mark

We booked before the one year mark....We booked more then 1 1/2 years in advance. Maybe they changed the rules since we booked. What day of the week is your wedding? I don't know if they changed things, but they def. have a lot of rules. So they may have decided not to let people book weddings more than a year in advance. If that is the case, book your wedding and rehearsal at the same time. We were told to wait until 2 months before to schedule rehearsal and I am glad I didn't listen because I called in Jan and they only had 3 rehearsal spots open. Otherwise I would have had to do the rehearsal 2 or 3 weeks before the wedding. Don't plan on an aisle runner either, they don't allow them...new rule, some sort of insurance policy.
