So, we're getting married at St. Rose of Lima, which is a huge church with a very long aisle. We are thinking about skipping pew decor all together, and at the most having 2 tall branch arrangements on the altar. That's it.
Think we can get away with that? I don't love traditional pew bows. I was going to make my own, but it's going to be a lot of work and extra $$$. Hmmmm.

Re: St. Rose of Lima, to decorate?
I went to a wedding there this past summer, and they did very simple pew bows with baby's breath. But to be honest, I didn't even remember them until I looked at the pics. So, in my opinion, I think you can totally get away with just items on the alter.

Re: St. Rose of Lima, to decorate?
We are getting married at St Rose of Lima as well and this question has come up a few times. I still need to find out if we can take one of the Alter pieces with us. But in terms of the pew bows, as of now we are doing the, but I feel like they are kind of overdone so I think you would be totally ok with not doing them and just doing Alter pieces.
BTW, who is marrying you? We are having some issues in the priest department.

Re: St. Rose of Lima, to decorate?
I'm a St. Rose bride as well (Fr. Ken)! I haven't thought much about this, but I think you could do it or not, and anything can really work. If I remember correctly my sister did bows for the front half (in front of the division). I may try to do some sort of single flower thing, every other pew. Because of how big the alter is, I'm thinking about not doing pieces up there.

We took the foccus test on sept 17, haven't heard anything yet. Ooooh, let us know what they say, I'm pretty sure close to nothing can be thrown!

I know you cant throw ANYTHING!!!! They're super super strict...so if you want something make sure you specifically ask for it.

So you took PreCana before you finished the FOCCUS? I didn't think you could do that. We are too late for the winter. WE are going to take it in the spring. I am really getting annoyed though because this week will be my third call to set up the 2nd part of FOCCUS. 4 weeks has turned into 7 weeks!!
