I am trying to plan my honeymoon. I can't decide where to go. Friend suggested St. Thoma with day trip excursion to The Baths over on the British Islands. I was thinking of St. Lucia or Hawaii... but Hawaii takes a long time to get there.
Budget is 2500-3700.00 suggestions? I don't mind splitting the trip up, in fact I like it. 1/2 in one resort, half in another either on the same island or a different one.
We would be leaving Sept. 27th and staying 7-8 nights. Where should we go???? We like trees, rainforest/ trpoical setting, water activities, romance and GOOD FOOD. That is important. We are not into the club scene, but we love going to really good restaurants with good food and/or ambiance. HELP!

You could even go to costa rica. you will get all that you want for that price. if not I hear jamaica is nice or even mexico or domincan republic.

i don't think you can do hawaii on that budget, so i'd say st. lucia.

i would check out sandals st. lucia the 'halycon' is the most inexpensive one with great rooms!

St. Lucia. Sandals............ Call Travel Tom. Tell him your budget and he will give you great ideas/options and since he's a travel agent, he's free!

We priced Sandals St Lucia first and when we got the quote of about 5000 for 10 days we decided to spend that on Hawaii. I don't know if you can get St Lucia for that range- it all comes down to the days. I have been to St Thomas and it is beautiful there as well- don't think you can go wrong with either. I would say price it out and go where you can get the most for your money. Good luck!!

Are you including airfare in your budget?
I dont think Hawaii will fit in your budget.
The downfall of St Thomas is the transportation. You will have to rent a car (and drive the mountain terrain) or take expensive taxis. The taxis are convenient but pricey.. they charge per person! But the island has some excellent restaurants, & if you want quiet for a few days you can take a ferry to St John. St Thomas is not inexpensive.
I would highly recommend speaking to a travel agent about Dominican Republic - Punta Cana. The resorts are all inclusive and the beaches are fabulous. Price out Paradisus (2 locations.. punta cana resort or the newer Palma real) or Melia Caribe Tropical. All are owned by Sol Melia.
