We wanted Moorea but it's just not happening money-wise. FH doesn't want to go to Hawaii for some reason and Capri and Malta are too cold in April. So, I'm considering St. Vincent. Does anyone have any info on the islands?

I think you should go for it! It is a small, beautiful island. I actually have family from there. What's cool is that if you and FH want to you, you can do a little bit island hopping there are small other island that you can visit either by ferry or plane. My mother is from Grenada which is not too far from St. Vincent. I would also recommend Grenada as honeymoon location. It is just so beautiful there and unique as well. Not as many Americans go to Grenada or St. Vincent. You will find a lot more Europeans there. However, if you are into getting a true sense of how people live, and also choosing a unique honey moon spot I think it's a really nice choice. you will defiitely avoid the commercialism associated with more popular spots! I was actually looking into that area as well.. it seems that it's not the typical honeymoon spot that most people are going to

That's great info - thanks!! Our goal is to go to a non-standard honeymoon spot, which I guess is why FH doesn't want to do Hawaii. And, the fact that few Americans go there makes it better. We had that at the resort we stayed at in Mexican Riviera and I thought it made the trip more pleasant - REALLY got away from everything!

Petite St Vincent is outrageous!!! One resort on the island with private villas scattered over the island... when you want service you put up a flag and they come to you!!!! We travel quite a bit..this was truly one of the best. You may also want to try Cap Juluca in Anguilla or the Grace Bay Club in Turks and Caicos or Parrot Cay...all great choices.

You should check out Scubamom.com, her site was very helpful when I was planning my honeymoon, you can even talk to her on wheretostay.com, they have a message board that she is always on. She travels all over the caribbean and then does a review of all her destinations. We chose Peter Island which I highle reccommend but I have heard nothing but good things about St. Vincent as well except that its harder to get to I think.
