okay so i went to buy stamps today to send out the invites... turns out this is going to be really tough... they still are not selling 44 cent stamps... how is this possible? so i tried to buy liberty bell stamps instead, for the rsvps- oh and those are completely out in the main brooklyn post office...
then i had her weigh my invitation set- she told me it was only 42cents... that doesnt seem right- or does it? any thoughts would be much appreciated...

Re: stamps
If your invitations are small and light, it may be right. But it does sound a little weird, because with the rsvp cards and envelopes, you would think it would be more than 42 cents.
I plan to order the forever stamps on the usps's website, they have a 5 pack for $42 (100 stamps in all).

Re: stamps
Thats odd - because I just bought stamps for my E-Party invites and they post office by me (on LI) was already selling the 44 cent stamps. I had a hard time finding the 42 cent love stamps though b/c I am mailing them out before the postage goes up. Maybe call around to different post offices?

Re: stamps
Make sure you ask more than one person to weigh it for you!!!!
We had it weighed at one PO-- bought ALL of the stamps and put them on. Then when DH and I went to the PO with the invites to mail them they weighed them again and said that since they were stiff they were considered a parcel!! It required another 20 cents or so!!
I think the total postage for our invites was around $1.17 or so.... plus the stamp on the RSVP envelope.
That does sound a bit low... make sure they measure the size of the envelope too because that changes the price!

Re: stamps
remember ladies....unless you are buying forever stamps or sending your invites out before next Monday you will have to get additional postage for the increase!
