Star Jones getting hitched

Issue - Heard soeone on the radio say that this guy was marryoing her for money. Because the man is 'fine' and star is not 'in shape'. So who thinks the money is a lure? she is a very smart woman, a lawyer, but people are feeling like she could not get this guy were she not a celebrity?

He's a nice looking guy, but I don't think he is all that cute. Why do people have to make an issue about her weight assuming that he's only with her bc of the money. Why can't he love her bc of the person that she is?

I think it's a load of crap. From what she has said about their relatioship, they seem to have a very spritual and genuine relationship. I don't think a man would ask your parents for you hand in marriage if they only wanted to marry you for the money.

I think it's BS! Just because she does not fit the cookie cutter style of a celebrity does not mean that she cannot attract a handsome man. It's insulting to Star Jones & other plus sized women and it's insulting to her fiance and his intentions.

I think Star is very pretty. She is a lady in every sense of the word. She has a lot to bring to the table BESIDES her money.. She is intelligent, well traveled, cultured etc etc.

We saw her get engaged on Sun night. He proposed at the NBA All-Star game.

Oo shoot I was thinking she got engaged to the Spanish guy she used to be on the HSN with. I agree with you steph, he is not really all that.

Aw, hes cute. Its like people used to say about Oprah and Stedman, and look now Oprah is hot and filthy rich...the man has the best of both worlds.
I have a good male friend who loves 'plus size' women, and he is not alone...i think its terrible that the media makes it out so that the only thing a man might see in her is her $$. But I doubt Star cares, she has her money and her groove on

I was a bit shocked when I saw it on Ch 7 News yesterday and only after 4 months of dating, now that is what you call a man that knows what he wants Was it a yellow diamond. IT is HUGE

They have only been together for 4 months, o probably that is why people think he is gold digging.

Yup only 4 months, who knew she kept her hand on her breast/chest all during the view the day after, that is what I call a blinger, she was too proud. When I saw the proposal it looked staged, like she knew it was coming.

On yesterday's show, she said that they have only been dating 4 months, but have known each other for years.

I wonder if he is trying to protect his identity bc in all the pictures he always has those dark glasses on. He might actually be really cute, but you can't tell with those glasses.

ETA: She also said yesterday that she knew he was going to propose that weekend bc he asked her parents for her hand in marriage on Thurs. She knew something was up bc at the top of the 4th quarter she saw someone bring him the box and him throwing his coat on the floor to cover it up.

I don't think he's marrying her for money, they met at some music industry party that I doubt a poor person off the street would be able to even get into. He may not have as much money as star, but he's not poor, I'm pretty sure he's a banker. Besides, she's not dumb, there will be one huge prenup before they step foot into a church.
IMO, even at her heaviest weight, Star is beautiful, more beautiful than a lot of other women. Also, I've read in a few places that she had her stomach stapled (or gastric bypass) over the past summer. She looks to have lost at least 50lbs. One thing about her FH, he's not that hot without the glasses. He's handsome, but almost geeky in a way.
But I'm happy for her, and skinny or fat, rich or poor, hot or ugly, why can't everyone else just believe that someone might love her for who she is in private, not who she is in the media?

I thought she looked thinner in that photo. I think she needed to do something for health reasons, on the View when she talks she sounds like shes out of breath all the time.
