We called and found out that we did get a deduction from the STAR program, but they can't tell us how much over the phone. They said that we would be getting something in the mail sometime this month. I know that this goes towards school taxes, but does this lower your monthly mortgage payment at all?

I think Basic Star is $540 or $590 - I can't remember which it is

Yes it does lower your payments. Mine kicked in for the October taxes and lowered my payments beginning in January. My mortgage company sent us a check for the difference for Oct, Nov, and Dec.

I'm not totally sure about what it is but I know that it is a certain percentage off of your taxes, it is not a set amount. The higher your taxes the more you get off.

i keep getting told by my real estate agent that it reduced the taxed dramatically does anyone know if this is true? how much did most of you get off
